Re: The Scripted Press Conference

The amazing thing about the fraudulence of the Bush Regime is just how stunningly transparent it all is. Most of the time it seems they aren't even mildly interested in concealing the corruption that defines them. This appeared to be very much the case last night. Although I don't think it was intended for Bush to blurt out, "This is scripted," there also didn't seem to be much effort put in concealing the fact that it absolutely was-- the way that Helen Thomas was blatantly excluded and the way Bush read names off a prepared list created the impression of a strictly controlled event. I suspect that Goebbels Jr. figured this was an opportunity to introduce the way press conferences will be run from now on-- there might be a little (VERY little) criticism in the media initially, but a year from now most of the American sheep will just figure that this is how press conferences have always been run.

As far as the transcript on CNN and, even worse, the ones on other websites that have Bush saying, "This is unscripted" (buzzflash), I guess this is simply a result of the media operating on "cover Bush's ass" autopilot.

It's mind boggling. It's hard to believe it. You have to look at things like the "this is unscripted" thing to really become immune to the propaganda like what is on AOL today, where they have this online vote thing and it has 90,000 saying "NOW" against a third as many saying "later" and something like 23,000 saying "never". And in the pictures they put up to represent the "protesters", that is, the ones who say "never", they look really obnoxious. People who look like they need to be slapped. Bush, of course looks classy and debonair.
