This coup brought to you by Enron, Halliburton and other supporters of corporate totalitarianism

Documents filed on July 15 with the IRS show that $13.8 million instantly poured into the Bush camp when the Florida election came to a standoff. According to The Daily Enron, most of it came in in large chunks and among the large contributors were Enron and Halliburton, who were sure to get their money back and much more in favors from the government once Bush and Cheney were in control.

So there it is, the formula for buying control of the government in clear terms. You pay the politicians; when they get in, they pay you back much more from the public treasury. Then you give them back a nice portion of that and it just goes on and on and on and on ... until ... you break the bank. Until finally you become so greedy that you destroy the infrastructure of the entire financial system. And that, my friends, is what is happening.
