McCarthyism Rises. A New York Daily News article reports that a government report says Iraqi spies slipped into the country to stir up anti-war demonstrations. The junta continues to top itself in ridiculousness. Power they have. Sense they don't. No Iraqi spy had anything to do with those hundreds of thousands of middle Americans, teachers, workers, veterans, union members, working people, clergy, all races, all age groups, all religions who have been demonstrating against the war. Give me a break! So this is how the Homeland Security department is going to act. Are the American people going to put up with Stalinism in the the once-bastion of freedom?
Nelson Mandela referred to the U.S. as "one power with a president who has no foresight, who cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust." See CNN.
