  • The Project for World Military Domination. Bernard Weiner was recently invited onto a conservative radio talk show where he debated the host about the Bush catastrophe. Weiner told some of the specifics of the public agenda of the Project for a New American Century, such as "attacking possible future competitors first, assuming regional hegemony by force of arms, controlling energy resources around the globe, maintaining a permanent-war strategy, etc." These plainly stated objectives are so outrageous, the document is hard to take seriously, like Mein Kampf.

His host was apparently caught unaware of PNAC and said, "If you really can demonstrate all that, you probably can deny George Bush a second term in 2004." Weiner concluded that if people could just be made aware of the written agenda of the Bush cabal, even conservatives would in many cases be appalled. Many of them are, after all, sane, just misinformed. Weiner then put together what he calls a PNAC Primer, and it could be a key document. (See The Crisis Papers.)

Napoleon is quoted to have said, concentrate all your power on the weakest point in your opponent's line. When it breaks, then everything is easy." Awareness of the PNAC is certainly one point of extreme importance in getting people to understand what is happening with the Bush cabal. There are a few interlocking points that are keys to getting the point across. The unanswered questions of 911, and the fact that Bush is suppressing information about the attacks instead of investigating them, constitute one key point in unraveling the deception.

In a report in 2000 of a think tank commissioned by the cabal that included Cheney, Jeb Bush, Wolfowitz and Lewis Libby, it said that the group's plan for world military domination was a "transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor." (See ABC News.) Having successfully screened out a great many warnings and disabled the defenses of the east coast, they got their crisis in 911. And everything else in their agenda is justified by 911.

Pretty obvious, especially when you have seen the PNAC's papers. Weiner lays it out very clearly and links together an invaluable archive on the subject.

  • The Wisdom of the Market. Ruppert Murdoch, the Australian Baron of Brainwashing who has turned the large part of the US media he owns into a bulletin for the fascist elite, was apparently quite the funny man at the congressional committee the other day.

When he was asked what he thought about a study that found that the nation's 44 top-rated stations broadcast 312 hours of conservative talk programming in a week, compared with 11 hours of liberal shows." The senator "pointed out that these stations are owned by only five companies, a fact he said demonstrates that fewer owners means less diversity of opinion. He asked Murdoch what he thought. 'Apparently, conservative talk radio is more popular,' Murdoch replied." (See the Washington Post.)

    Memorial Day Weekend

    Tribute to Memory

It is time for Americans to sharpen their memories before their democratic system is washed away by this tidal wave of fascism. Wake up America! Pay attention! Take Action! This is a very serious fix we are in. But there is hope, if Americans wake up and take action.

See below for some news dispatches of note:

  • A ray of hope for Democracy. New Jersey Congressman Rush Holt introduced a bill to require a mandatory paper trail for the voting process. Voting machines with secret workings do not satisfy the most minimal requirements of transparency and verifiability of a democratic process. This is extremely important and Holt needs a great outpouring of support for this. There is no more important issue right now. As Mark Crispin Miller recently put it, "The Democrats could run the most brilliant campaign in history and it wouldn't matter. They could elect Charley Manson president with those machines." All members of Congress need to hear from their constituents about this. Here is something really meaningful we can do. For the text of the bill, see Representative Rush Holt's website. To contact your congressperson, see this Congressional Database, or this Congressional Database. The Congressional switchboard number is (202) 224 3121.

  • Glitch wins by a landslide. The voting machine secrecy is one of the most important problems we currently face. It has the power to easily destroy what is left of democracy. See Counterpunch. For more on the voting machine crisis, see Black Box Voting.
  • Here come the death camps. One thing people who don't believe fascism exists in America like to say is that, "We don't have death camps here." Well, now the military has floated its trial balloon. Here come the death camps. Are Americans going to allow this continuing creep of fascism? "The US has floated plans to turn Guantanamo Bay into a death camp, with its own death row and execution chamber," says the Herald Sun. "Prisoners would be tried, convicted and executed without leaving its boundaries, without a jury and without right of appeal, The Mail on Sunday newspaper reported yesterday. The plans were revealed by Major-General Geoffrey Miller, who is in charge of 680 suspects from 43 countries, including two Australians. The suspects have been held at Camp Delta on Cuba without charge for 18 months."
  • The Battle rages for release of the report of the congressional inquiry into 911. MSNBC. This is a key issue. What happened to allow that attack? How can future attacks be prevented? And why does the Bush administration not want these questions answered for the public?
  • Is Al Qaida a McGuffin? The Syrian president is questioning the existence of Al Qaida except as a tool to use to push the Bush administration's agenda of conquest. (See Sacramento Bee/Associated Press.) See Cinepad for more on "McGuffin", Alfred Hitchcock's term for something that creates an objective to drive the plot of a film, but has little meaning in itself.
  • Now the warmongers are setting up Iran for a "regime change". Don't put those antiwar march boots away yet. The ass-kissers of the military machine in Congress, including "Democrats" Joe Leiberman, Jane Harman of California, Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, and Republicans Pat Roberts of Kansas and Porter Goss of Florida are among the ones who are slobbering for more war. See the Newark Star Ledger.
  • Government coverups and lapses in security allowed 911 to happen. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta held to the blatant lie that the federal government was caught unawares and had not anticipated that airplanes could be used in an attack, when this is clearly proven to be untrue by the record of events. The press is not pressing the issue apparently, and is letting the snakes get away with their lie. And the panel will be forced to conclude in a few more days (May 27). Imagine, years and $50 million spent to catch Clinton in a lie about a blow job, and the most damaging attack ever on Americans is swept under the rug. And where is the so-called "free press"? See Chicago Tribune

  • "What has become painfully clear in the aftermath of war is that Iraq was no immediate threat to the United States. Ravaged by years of sanctions, Iraq did not even lift an airplane against us," said "Senator Byrd, in a brilliant speeched titled "The Truth Will Emerge". It is reassuring to hear him say so, from his standpoint as an elder statesman, but it is -- as he points out -- no reason for complacency. Evenutally the truth will no longer matter. So knowing the truth is not the final goal, acting on it completes it. "Truth has a way of asserting itself despite all attempts to obscure it," says Byrd. "Distortion only serves to derail it for a time. No matter to what lengths we humans may go to obfuscate facts or delude our fellows, truth has a way of squeezing out through the cracks, eventually. But the danger is that at some point it may no longer matter. The danger is that damage is done before the truth is widely realized. The reality is that, sometimes, it is easier to ignore uncomfortable facts and go along with whatever distortion is currently in vogue."
  • There were no Weapons of Mass Destruction. It was a lie. "Think about it," says The E-mail Activist. "If you were Saddam Hussein, which would be more important to you, repelling the Americans and retaining your power, or hiding your weapons in hopes of embarrassing the United States after your defeat? Not exactly a brainteaser, is it?" The pretext for war was a lie. Mass murder, thousands of Iraqi civilians, not to mention soldiers defending their country against an invader -- for false pretenses! This is no joke. This is what Hitler did. Americans, are you okay with that? With being the new fascist empire?

  • "Sedition & Treason in the US Imperial State" by Al Martin shows how Tom Delay's little stunt in Texas was much more sinister than mainstream reporting conveyed.
  • "A coalition of over 150 peace groups and global non-governmental organisations (NGOs) is lashing out at the U.N. Security Council for adopting a resolution that virtually legitimises the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and endorses the foreign occupation of a U.N. member state." See Inter Press Service News Agency
  • Michael Shannon, writing for Democratic Underground, predicts Bush's downfall. "The primary reason for Mr Bush's fall from political grace is that he never should have been up there in the first place. By that I do not refer to the electoral/judicial soft shoe that got him where he is. No, his fall is predetermined for a much more a priori factor than that. To repeat the obvious: if this little man did not have the last name of Bush, and all the advantages and connections that came with it, he would be lucky if he was managing a discount furniture store in Midland."
  • Veterans for Peace are calling for Bush's impeachment based on high crimes and misdemeanors stemming from an invasion of Iraq on false pretenses, and a great deal more.
  • "If this is safety, give me danger," says Ted Rall. Bush's "War on Terror" is a ludicrous failure, but very expensive in every sense of the word, especially human cost. "Ariel Sharon offers living proof that hard-ass tactics strengthen, rather than weaken terrorist groups. Each time Israel assassinates a Palestinian leader or demolishes an Arab home, moderates angered by those actions become radicalized. Israelis and Palestinians have suffered through this endless attack-retaliation-attack cycle for decades. Surely we can learn from their pain."
