An open letter to George W. Bush, regarding Kyoto, Alaska, CO2, etc:

Dear Mr. Bush:

You've proven many things to us in your short presidency: that the majority does not rule; democratic traditions do not have to be respected; and you can relentlessly push an agenda opposed by a huge majority of the population. But there is a limit.

You may be able to have your way without compromise in the political sphere, but when it comes to nature you can only push so far before the consequences will be more than even your powerful supporters can deal with. When the environment is too toxic to support life, it will affect everyone, including the decendants of your supporters, who are now so blinded by greed they cannot moderate their own behavior even if it means massive destruction.

Sincerely,
David Cogswell
