A Prophet of the WTC Disaster

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's security chief Rick Rescorla, who was a combat veteran of Rhodesia, Cyprus and Vietnam, was killed in the WTC attack September 11, 2001. In a filmed interview, Rescorla predicted the kind of blowback that would result in terrorist activity in major U.S. cities, exactly like what occurred. Watch this mind-blowing film at http://atomfilms.shockwave.com.

Here are a few snippets:

We're fortunate in this country. We have been blessed with a wonderful country, wonderful resources. But don't let us think we can be the world's top cop. We can't...

When you talk about the future wars we're talking about engaging in Los Angeles, about terrorist actions. Terrorist forces can tie up conventional forces and bring them to their knees. The bombing in Beirut is a good example...

Hunting down terrorists, this will be the nature of war in the future, not great battlefields, not great tanks rolling...

Military power is completely secondary to national will and national morality. The whole world could get behind the idea of the social contract, that individual freedoms are important and the social contract between an individual and his government is a two-way street. But they will not get behind actions like Nicaruagua where we're backing the wrong people often, supporting dictators for the thought of economic stability so our foreign and domestic corporations can do business...

And the residue of hatred this is creating where we are doing these things in foreign countries where we don't think there are any repercussions, people should think about the World Trade Center bombing. Things will come home to roost -- they may be 20 years later -- for these cavalier actions we're taking out there now. And who is directing these cavalier actions? People in command and control who've never seen a shot fired in anger in their life..."
